Sciatica/Trapped Nerve
Sciatica refers to pain caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back down through your hips, buttocks and legs. It can cause sharp, shooting pain, tingling, numbness or weakness—often affecting one side of the body.
Common causes of sciatica include:
- A disc bulge pressing on the nerve
- Trapped nerves due to tight muscles or joint stiffness
- Spondylosis or wear-and-tear changes in the spine
- Poor posture or prolonged sitting
